Remembering, 'From Where' LP, By: MAD Skillz, Released 19 years ago, today! Lets Go Back to

I was on Facebook today and in today's social media outlet, SKILLZ is one of my friends! He reminded me that He Dropped his Classic Hip-Hop Album, 'From Where', 19 years ago today. For All you New Skool Hip-Hoppa's who don't know who he is, it's a must you learn about this classic MC. Also

known as Mad Skillz, He dropped the MAD and brought it back in 2015. Either way it goes, this Virgina, MC has always been a huge influence on me as a MC. Back in 1996 I had this steady rockin in my headphones! I remember when I first saw the Nod Factor, Video!

After I heard that joint, I was hooked!!! They way The Beatnuts, flipped the Guitar Watson, 'Super-Man, Lover' sample was sooo raw! You can literally pop this record in and listen to it from beginning to the end! Skillz was so Dope on his debut project! His deliverly, wordplay, metaphors! Sheesh, he had punchlines, that were way before his time. You had to rewind it back to soak in the words a few times. He had a way of bringing his wordsto life,. He reminded me a lil of Kane mixed with Q-Tip. He had a slow flow, but changed up and rocked the beat, dude was sweet yo! 'From Where' album was praised for its strong lyrical content and production, I dunno if he had a lot of sales from it, but me and my boy's where rockin to it. Producers for the album included Jay Dee, The Beatnuts, Buckwild, Large Professor, and DJ Clark Kent. The singles "The Nod Factor" and "Move Ya Body" received moderate radio and video airplay!

To Me alot of people slept on Skillz! All the REAL MC's took heed to him. For others, He went right over their heads! In any regards, the brother, never stopped hustling. Noted as a famous Hip-Hop Ghost-Writer,he continued to dropped hot singles and video's throughout the years. He had a dope, video series on line called, 'Hip-Hop Confessions'. Always staying relavent with his Classic , yearly 'RAP-up'. You can still find him around worldwide throughout the music scene doin his thing. You can find him rockin out with Jazzy Jeff, or on Shady 45 spinning records as well. Skillz is a True Hip-Hop head, So today I salute you big homie, thank you for the inspiration throughout the years! And dropping a Classic Hip-Hop record! From the days of the New Music Seminar, I've respected who you are!
